Switzerland’s own list of its cities: the population of each commune as Federal Statistical Office (FSO/BFS) counts it (STATPOP px-x-0102010000_101: permanent and non permanent resident population by year, canton, district, commune, 31 December 2025), the way the country ranks its cities. A city that is not one of the list’s communes of 10,000 people or more is left out. Metro area, urban centre and city proper rank the same cities by the worldwide measures instead, so they compare across borders. One per group: the largest city of each canton by this measure, then ranked together.
